The purpose of this advanced course is to provide the student with practical applications of principals learned in Processing II. In addition, the student will learn fully decoupled processing using cavity pressure technology and press instrumentation, along with interpreting pressure traces. This is an application course with lab experience.

Course highlights include:
  • Fieldbus Introduction
  • Reviewing non-instrumental decoupled molding
  • Practicing machine robustness tests
  • Setting up a non-instrumental decoupled process
  • Discussing fully decoupled molding
  • Linking pressure traces to understanding mold instrumentation
  • Watching the development of a fully decoupled process
  • Connecting mold and press instrumentation to reduce part variation
  • Using cavity pressure monitoring for quality control
  • Soring defective products through pressure alarms
  • Building decoupled processes
Notes: Injection Molding Processing II (P106) is a prerequisite for this class. The handout material and a certificate of completion are included with the course fee.
